RIVER ZHANG

River began studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine, specializing in acupuncture, at Grant MacEwan in 2019. He graduated successfully in June 2022 and became a registered acupuncturist after passing the board exam. During his time at the university, he dedicated himself to learning the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including the knowledge of TCM diagnosis, TCM patterns, meridians, and acupuncture points, and achieved a GPA of 3.988.
After graduation, River focused on researching the etiology and pathogenesis of various diseases and their clinical treatments. By combining acupuncture and Tui na (Chinese therapeutic massage), River has provided treatments and gained excellent results for common pain management in different body parts. Additionally, River has explored various Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies, like cupping, Guasha, and moxibustion, and has had success in treating cases caused by internal Zangfu organ imbalances. For example, River has used scalp acupuncture to help treat hemiplegia following a stroke, and he has effectively combined acupuncture and moxibustion to address issues such as insomnia, depression, and loss of appetite caused by excessive mental stress. River has also achieved positive outcomes in treating gynecological conditions like dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, and fertility.
