Josh Gutierrez
Josh obtained his Bachelors of Kinesiology (B.Kin) degree from University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. He is currently practicing as a Kinesiologist under Alberta Kinesiology Association. During his undergraduate, he has worked with athletes, para-athletes, and children with disabilities where he created exercise programs to help with the adoption of lifetime physical activity.
After graduation, he is currently pursuing a certificate in personal training through Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) and has recently completed certifications in RockBlading. He is hoping to take further certifications to become a clinical exercise physiologist through CSEP as well.
Josh began working in Ponoka Physiotherapy shortly after he graduated from University of Alberta. He is currently working with WCB clients to help them become active and facilitate a safe return to work. He adopts a philosophy of “Exercise is Medicine” and educates clients on the importance of physical activity for the longevity of the whole body. His current interests are working with pre-surgical and post-surgical shoulder/hip/knee rehabilitation. He also has keen interest in working with seniors and older demographics to help them find the time to become physically active.
